Vaishya community is the main trading community of India, also called Baniya. The main occupation of the Vaishya community is trading and is mainly involved in family businesses. The Vaishya brides wear heavy lehengas in bright colors, and are decked in beautiful and heavy gold and diamond jewellery. The Vaishya brides are good at household works and prove to be efficient homemakers. Wedding among same Gotra in Vaishya bride and groom is prohibited, as they are considered as brother-sister.
