Shwetamber Maharashtra is the group of people, who hail from the Shwetamber sect of Janis. They are popularly known as the White clads and are divided into two sub- sects Murthipujak and Sthanakvasis. There is a significant population of Shwetamber Jains living in Maharashtra state of India. The marriages of the Shwetambers are supposed to take place within their respective castes. The cultures and the customs of marriages are mostly same as of Jainis traditions in other parts of the country.
