Shwetamber, one of the two sects of Jainism, is divided into two sub sects which may be further divided into various sub-sects. Shwetamber New Delhi follow two dharma in marriage that are known as 'samanya' and 'vishesh'. Jain marriages are conducted by Jain pundits and are meant to be a public declaration by the couple and their families of their intentions to be together. Shwetamber New Delhi mostly believes in matrimony within their community so that children born would follow Jainism only.
