Rajput is a landowning patrilineal clan mainly found in the northern and the central India. Rajput doctors may belong to any of the three lineages namely Suryavanshi (the sun), Chandravanshi (the moon) and Agnivanshi (the fire).

Rajput may have distinct weddings rituals but are similar to other Hindu weddings in India. Along with the ceremonies of engagement, tika, sangeet, etc. are the 'Ganpati Sthaapana'. Friends and relatives come in with gifts and shower blessings on the newly-wed couple.
