Rajasthanis are predominantly Hindus who mingle well with other communities socially. Rajasthanis are an ethno-linguistic group with many different castes & communities.
The major sub ethnic Rajasthani Hindu groups are:
-Jats, native tribal group of Rajasthan;
-Gurjar, protectors of Gurjaratra (portions of Rajasthan and Gujarat) and
-Rajputs, proud warriors of Rajputana
Other tribal communities include Mali, Kalvi, Meena, Bhil, Garasia, Kanjar etc.
The majority of Rajasthani Hindus are vegetarian.
