Oriya Hindu Brahmins also known as Utkala Brahmin is a caste belonging to Orissa, the state of Indian & other neighbouring states like Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Northern Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand. Oriya hindu Brahmins are divided into three sub- castes, Shrotriya, Sevayata Brahmin or Ashrotriya and Halua Brahmin. People belonging to the community of Oriya Hindu Brahmins basically have the surnames like Acharya, Sharma, Nath, Dixit, Mishra, Dash, Kar, Tripathy, Rajguru, Bishi, Patri, etc.
