The term ‚Sutar‚„ comes from a Sanskrit word ‚Sootradhar‚„ and they are the offspring of Lord Vishwakarma. The main occupation of this Hindu community is carpentry; they are pure vegetarians and avoid consumption of alcohol. Suthars are majorly found in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra in India. Mistris and Kadias in Gujarat are usually grouped under the community of Sutars. Hindi, Marathi, Marwari and Gujarati are spoken commonly by the members of Sutar community.
