Reddy is a south Indian social group, found predominantly in Andhra Pradesh along with other states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra. Telugu, Tamil and Kannada are the three main languages spoken by members of Reddy community. Reddys have a long tradition of headman ship in villages and this continues even today as they actively get involved in local, state and national politics. Many businessmen and politicians in south India, particularly Andhra Pradesh are Reddys by caste.
