Naidu is a Telugu derivation of the Sanskrit word ‚Nayaka‚„ which means leader. This title is used by social groups chiefly in south India in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Orissa, Maharashtra and Chattisgarh.
