Kayasthas belong to the ethnic group of Hindus and are known to be the only direct descendants of a Vedic god. According to Vedas, Kayasthas enjoys a dual caste status, as Brahmins and Kshatriyas. They are mainly employed in the writing jobs. Kayasthas are basically the residents of the Northern India and are said to be the sub- sects of Brahmins. Kayastha is one of the religious castes, whose mention can be found in the many of the Vedic Hindu religious texts like Shrutis, Shrutis and Puranas.
