Jharkhand is a popular state in the eastern part of India carved out of Bihar in 2000. Sharing its border with Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Chhattisgarh, the tribal dominated state celebrates its diverse matrimonial customs by dancing to the tune of folk instruments with horse puppets worn by the men around their waist. Jharkhand matrimony includes a wide range of pre-wedding and post-wedding rituals. Bangles, mangalsutra and vermillion hold significance in their marriage.
