Konkani Muslims are a sub-ethnic group of Maharashtrian Muslims living in Konkan region and speak Konkani. Most of the community members are economic migrants working in Gulf countries, USA and East Africa. The Sunni Konkani Muslims follow the Hanafi School of Islamic law and are known as orthodox Muslim sect. Konkani Muslims are widely located in Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka state. The maximum Sunni Muslims households are run on foreign money where one of the family member is working abroad.
