Konkani
Matrimonial
Konkani people form an ethnic group primarily found in the Konkan Coast of western India who speak the Konkani language natively.
The word Konkani derives from kum, meaning 'Mother Earth' and kana, meaning 'piece/part' thereby meaning a strip of land. Thus, the land along the western Indian coast beyond the Western Ghat Mountains is called Konkan. Both the language and the people take their names from the region where it originated. Konkanis are found in Konkan Division, Goa, Canara and Kerala.
