Mangalorean Christians are Catholics and speak Konkani language which is an indo-Aryan language. Konkani Christians have descended from Goan ancestors. A large number of Mangalorean Christians follow Indian traditions and wear saree as wedding attire. The most common surnames of Konkani Christians are Pinto, D'Souza, Coelho etc. Their main occupation is agriculture. A large population of Konkani Christians is also found in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and also in gulf region and USA.
