Hindu Khatri caste have originated from the Punjab state most of which is now in Pakistan. It is a warrior Kshatriya caste and some of the famous surnames of Khatri's are Malhotra, Khanna, Kapoor, Chopra and Batta to name a few. Hindu Khatri brides follow Punjabi traditions and wear traditional lehenga or suit on their wedding day. Marriage decisions are usually taken by the elders of the family that follow the custom of arranged marriages. Hindu Khatri population is mainly found in north India.
