Kapu is a social group chiefly belonging from South India. Earlier members were engaged as agriculturists and administrators, but with changing times educated and into diverse jobs. A Kapu groom may reside in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Many Kapu caste families have shifted to Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and Orissa as well. The Kapu community members practice Hinduism, Christianity or Buddhism. The Kapu Grooms believe in the wedding customs and rituals of their religion
