Hindi Delhi Kayastha
Matrimonial
Kayasthas, the only sect referred to as direct descendants of a Vedic God, are said to belong to Kshatriya varna. Hindu Kayasthas are mainly spread across North India and practice both exogamy and endogamy i.e. marrying outside their caste as well as within the ethnic group rejecting others on bases of being unsuitable for marriage.
Delhi Kayashthas follow rituals like Bariksha, Sagai, Haldi, Tilak, Mehndi, Bhaat, Baraat, Tikka, Jaimala, Havan, Kanyadaan and Bidaai to mark their matrimony.
