The people of Haryana are commonly referred to as Haryanvis. Haryanvis have preserved their rich cultural heritage, age old customs and traditions through means of folklore, religious festivals, popular art, music and poetry. Haryanvi is also the dominant language of the region while Punjabi is the second official language.
Haryanvi is the northernmost dialect of the Hindi language most widely spoken in the North Indian states of Haryana and Delhi particularly by Jats, Rors, Gujjars and Kambojs.
