Goswami, means master of cattle, is a community of Kulin Brahmins. They are originally from Assam but living in other Indian states as well. The women members of Goswami community were earlier engaged in household duties but are educated and working. Wedding celebrations of this community involves many rituals and spans for several days. A Goswami bride usually dresses in traditional Indian attire. The Goswami Brides wear saris, usually red, maroon or orange, and decks with ornate gold jewelry.
