Ezhava is one of the largest communities in Kerala and followers of Hinduism. The community members are also known as Billavas and Thiyyas. Ezhava brides were earlier engaged in household duties but are educated and working in various sectors. On the wedding day, the ezhava bride is dressed in rich silk saris and covered with gold jewelry. Wedding celebrations of an Ezhava wedding include Ayana, Vivaha Nischayam and Kalyanam.
