Devanga is a South Indian community, and are primarily weavers, settled in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Wedding customs of the Devanga community depends on the state of residence of the members. Devanga brides usually don traditional Indian attire on the day of her wedding and she wears rich silk saris with gold borders. An important ritual of a Devanga Bride is 'harisna', in which married women of the family applies a paste of turmeric and oil on bride's hands and feet
