Chambar community belongs from the state of Maharashtra. The Chambhar Grooms believe in the wedding ceremonies of its community that are interwoven in customs and rituals. The community members are artisans and traditionally engaged in shoemaking profession. Male members are educated and engaged in various professions in the private and government sectors. The Chambar groom enjoys the 'Haldi' custom, where women apply a paste of sandalwood, turmeric and cream on the groom's face and body.
