Brahmin Mumbai can be used to classify the group of Brahmins residing in the entertainment city of India, Mumbai. The census of 1931 had reported nearly 2.5% population of Brahmins in the state of Maharashtra comprising several sub castes. They belong to the category of Pancha Dravida Brahmins who are from South of Vindhya mountains according to the shloka composed in the 11th century CE. Maharashtra and Konkon is one of the five classes of Southern India under this regional group among others.
