Majority of Bengali Muslims belong to Sunni division of Islam and usually conform to Hanafi School of Islamic law. Bengali Muslims were first arrived in West Bengal in thirteenth century during the Mughal rule. They follow several Sufi orders such as Tarika. Bengali Muslims are also known for their practice of “pirism” followed by Mulsim Saints. The major festivals of Bengali Muslims are Id-al-Fitr and Id-Al-Adha. Bengal architecture and music is highly influenced by Muslim culture.
