Assamese Kayastha
Matrimonial
Assamese Kayasthas are the Assamese people belonging to the Kayastha caste of Hindu religion. Kayasthas are counted among the four Vernas of Hinduism and are also known as Chitranshi. Kayasthas belong to the sub- sect of Hindu Brahmins, who had writing as their main profession in the ancient times. The rituals and the practises of Assamese Kayasthas are almost same as of other Kayasthas living in India, with influence of the Assamese traditions and are therefore divided into various sub- sects.
